The Winnipeg Wrestling Club is intended for the serious wrestler.  Our mission is to train wrestlers to compete at the highest level of their abilities, instilling values that inspire success.  We build Champions.

 

Registration is open to all ages and levels of experience. We welcome both male and female wrestlers.

 

 

 

COACHES

Head Coach:  Kris Stasiak

Kris is a former Olympic Wrestler with the Polish National Wrestling Team.  He has an extensive world class background in both Greco and Freestyle Wrestling and is a Level 5 Coach.

He was the coach of the Canadian National Greco Team at the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, and at the 1998 Pan American Championships. He was the Head Coach of the Canadian National Team at the Greco-Roman World Championships in Athens in 2001.

 
 

Asst. Coach: Toby Rutner

Toby is a former U.S. College Wrestler. A practicing Ph.D. Psychologist, he is an assistant coach and the club's Sports Psychologist.

 

Asst. Coach: Sven Hafemeister

Sven is a former member of the German National Greco Team, a 2x High School All-American and a Division One wrestler from Columbia University. He is the 2009 Canadian Senior National Champion in Greco. Sven brings a wealth of talent and experience to the WWC.

 

PHYSIOTHERAPIST: Tim Nanassy

Tim is an experienced wrestler and coach as well as a CAWA Certified Referee. A practicing Physiotherapist, he is the club's Trainer and Physiotherapist.

 

TEAM MANAGER: Debbie Torfason

Debbie is a long standing member of the provincial and national wrestling community. A professional accountant and office manager, she brings her organizational and administrative skills to her role as the club's Manager.
